Summer English Lesson V. Article “a” and “an”

Hi students,

Welcome to a new summer class. Today’s lesson is about the article a/an.

We use a/an:

  • with singular countable nouns.
  • when we talk about a person or a thing for the first time.
  • with jobs.

Use a before a consonant. Use an before a vowel.

Examples:

A computer, a table, a car, a chair, a plane, a train, a helicopter, etc.

An apple, an orange, an airport, an organisation, an umbrella, etc.

A dentist, a teacher, a mechanic, an engineer, an IT, an architect, etc.

Well, that’s all for today. See you next lesson. Make sentences and send them to me to correct.

Bye. Juanjo.
